RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina has launched a Web site through which retailers can register to participate in a 15 percent rebate program for selected Energy Star-rated appliances.

The rebates will be offered on appliances purchased between April 22-25.

The is offering information for retailers through its Web site under “Retailer Information Here.”


North Carolina is offering $8.8 million in rebates through federal funding.

Helgeson Enterprises, a Minnesota company, is working with N.C. on the program. Helgeson also is working with several other states.

If funds are available, a second program will be offered in June.

Rebates of up to $200 are available on refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers and dishwashers; water heaters (electric heat pump, gas storage, gas tankless, solar with gas or electric back-up). Rebates up to $300 are available for central air conditioners, air source heat pumps and gas furnaces.
