HICKORY, N.C. – (NYSE: CTV) is closing some cable production at a plant in Newton and transferring production to a facility I Joliet, Ill.
The decision means the loss of 85 jobs in Newton, the company said.
The Newton plant facilities affected involve wireless network cable manufacturing.
Another 45 employees at the plant that are not involved in manufacturing are not affected by the closure. “They will remain at Newton, pending a decision about the facilities’ long-term future,” the company said in a statement.
