MORRISVILLE, N.C. – Bill Everett, chief financial officer at (Nasdaq: TKLC), is retiring.

The telecommunications gear and software company said Thursday that Everett will retire as of March 31 but will continue to work with the company as a consultant.

Everett has been Tekelec’s CFO since April 2005. He joined the company in 2004, having worked previously at Steleus Group.

Tekelec announced the change just as it also disclosed profits and revenues that beat Wall Street expectations for the fourth quarter. ()

"I have greatly enjoyed the past five years as CFO with Tekelec and am extremely proud of our accomplishments," Everett said in a statement. "I will remain fully engaged as CFO through the end of March and am committed to ensuring a smooth transition to my successor."

Greg Rush, Tekelec’s chief accounting officer and corporate controller, will serve as interim CFO.
