RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Sematech announced Monday that it had named IBM executive Daniel Armbrust as president and chief executive officer, succeeding Michael R. Polcari, who is now chairman.
Armbrust, 47, most recently ran IBM’s 300mm semiconductor operation in East Fishkill, N.Y., which develops technologies and manufactures products for IBM and OEM customers. Previously Armbrust held a variety of positions at IBM related to process development, manufacturing, and client engagement.
Sematech, which has offices in Austin, Texas, and Albany, N.Y., partners with semiconductor and emerging technology developers and does research and development to help bring technologies to market.
