CARY, N.C. – , the world’s largest privately held software company, said Thursday it is suing World Programming Ltd. For copyright infringement and breach of license in a dispute involving the SAS Learning Edition product.

World Programming is based in the United Kingdom.

“The lawsuit alleges that World Programming has used the SAS Learning Edition product for purposes of developing, testing and benchmarking its World Programming System software in breach of the terms of the SAS Learning Edition Licensing Agreement,” said John Boswell, Vice President and General Counsel at SAS.

The suit was filed in London.

SAS is seeking damages as well as injunctive relief and wants to prevent distribution of software that was developed and tested using the SAS product.
