DURHAM, N.C. – Katrin Burt and James Rosen are the newest partners at venture capital firm

The two joined Intersouth in 2007.

Burt, a member of the technology team, started with Intersouth as an anaayst. A graduate of Oxford University, she earned her MBA at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. She also has a Masters in Microsystems and nanotechnology from Cranfield University.

Burt works with Intersouth portfolio firms HexaTech, siXis, Bright Hub and Ziptronix.

Rosen works with the life sciences team. He started at Intersouth as an investment intern in 2005.

A former equity research analyst covering life science firms, he is a graduate of Duke and earned at MBA at UCN-CH’s Kenan Flagler Business School. Rosen also worked as an emergency medical technician for five years.

His portfolio companies include Applied Genetic Technologies, Cempra Pharmaceuticals and Viamet Pharmaceuticals.
