CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Internet marketing firm is bolting Charlotte for a new headquarters just across the border in South Carolina.

The firm is also planning to add 100 people immediately and plans to add 1,000 jobs over the next several years. It also plans to invest $20 million in the new headquarters.

Red Ventures is receiving a variety of tax incentives for making the move.

“We are pleased to expand into Lancaster County,” said Mark Brodsky, the chief financial officer for Red Ventures. “The area has an excellent business environment that provides a great fit for our growing company and gives us access to a talented labor force.

“Red Ventures has experienced strong growth in recent years and we look forward to continuing that growth in South Carolina,” he added. “We appreciate all the support we’ve received from state and local officials and look forward to growing our relationship with Lancaster County and South Carolina in the years ahead.”

The company, which employs 500 people in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Guatemala, ranked 17th in the 2008 Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing companies and ranked second among advertising and marketing firms.
