RALEIGH, N.C. – Just who will be survivor and winner of the Tech Executive of the Year from the North Carolina Technology Association will be determined by popular vote.

The voting ties in with the theme of the trade group’s annual 21 Awards event: “Survivor: Outtech, Outdevelop, Outlead.”

It’s the first time NCTA will let members and non-members pick the top individual award recipient. The winner will be announced at a banquet on Nov. 12 at the Embassy Suites hotel in Cary.

Four finalists are in the running:

• Tom Brown, president, Stratapult

• Mike Capps, president, Epic Games

• Andrew “Flip” Filipowski, executive chairman and CEO, SilkRoad Technology

• Cynthia Marshall, president, AT&T North Carolina

Votes can be cast at the through Oct. 31.

“We are pleased to sponsor this year’s NCTA Tech Executive of the Year Award,” said Carolyn Saacke, managing director of NYSE Euronext. “North Carolina boasts an extremely high-caliber of technology leaders, and this prestigious award truly recognizes the best of the best.”
