CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Elizabeth Cermak, a veteran executive at Johnson & Johnson, is joining pharmaceutical firm (Nasdaq: POZN) as its chief commercial officer.
Cermak will be responsible for development and implementation of Pozen’s future products. She also will manage Pozen’s business development and strategic alliances.
“Hiring an outstanding, multi-talented pharma executive like Liz is a key step in POZEN’s evolution as a company,” said Pozen Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Plachetka. “She has precisely the right experiences and background to help us determine how best we can maximize the value of our PA assets around the world, and all our other products and product candidates, for POZEN shareholders.”
PA refers to a family of compounds Pozen intends to develop.
Cermak, a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, earned an MBA at Drexel University.
At J&J, her most recent position was worldwide vice president for the personal products franchise.
