RALEIGH, N.C. – International giant GE is adding technology from Raleigh-based to its smart meters.
In a deal announced Tuesday, Sensus said its FlexNet smart grid communications technology would be incorporated into GE smart meters later this fall.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Many utility companies worldwide are shifting to so-called smart grid technology and smart meters for improved communications and other capabilities.
"With today’s announcement, our electric utility customers will have another technology leader they may depend on to deliver intelligent FlexNet integrated products to the industry,” said Doug McCall, director of marketing for Sensus.
