ATLANTA – , a provider of gastrointestinal endoscopy products and related services, has closed on $7.5 million in new venture funding.

With the Series B funding, EndoChoice plans to expand its sales force in the U.S., Europe and Asia. The the company also plans new products and services.

Co-leading the round were Council Ventures, a new investor, and River Cities Capital Funds, which had led the Series A round.

The company offers more than 500 products and services.

"The GI [gastrointestinal] market has long suffered from a lack of innovation and high quality service," said Grant Jackson, general partner at Council Ventures, in a statement. "We are excited to be an investor in EndoChoice and to back an excellent management team with strong experience in GI as they bring needed innovation to the GI space."

Added Rik Vandevenee, principal at River Cities: “EndoChoice has proven that there is significant need in the marketplace for their offering as evidenced by rapid growth, customer praise and industry accolades. We are pleased to continue to support the management team in their endeavor to build an industry leading medtech company.”
