Most recently, Adams served as vice president for human resources for worldwide sales and international theaters at Cisco. She had worked at Cisco since 1995.
"Diane has a passion and talent for developing leaders, and solid experience in helping to shape the culture and workforce of Cisco, one of the IT industry’s great companies," said Glen Tullman, chief executive officer of Allscripts, in a statement. "Her skill set will help Allscripts maintain and build upon its reputation as a top national employer during this time of significant growth for the company."
Before working at Cisco, Adams spent several years at Nortel and also formed her own consulting business.
In the Triangle, Adams is actively involved in community efforts as a board member at the Juvenile Diabetes research Foundation and the Triangle/Eastern North Carolina chapter of that organization.
