O4, which launched in 1998, focuses on mobile and wireless software applications. The company has some 60 customers in 20 countries. Clients include Procter & Gamble, Cadbury, Dyson and Black & Decker.

Users can run O4 applications in multiple countries and multiple languages using the same source code.

“With the battle for consumer purchase decisions shifting from the airwaves to supermarket aisles, consumer products companies are focusing on field execution and management as the new battleground for competitive advantage,” said Desmond Miller, o$’s chief executive officer. “This trend is accelerating rapidly, driving unprecedented demand for our next-generation mobile software solutions.”

As part of the financing, Laura Witt and Bobby Goswami of ABS Capital will join O4’s board.

“The company provides the leading solution in addressing a high value problem for the [consumer product] market,” said Witt. “We have been impressed as we have talked to O4’s customers about how crucial its solutions are to their sales strategy.”
