Bob Young, founder and owner of self-publishing services provider , reached into the ranks of another company he helped launch – – in order to expand Lulu’s management team.
Michael Chen, who was vice president for corporate marketing at Red Hat, joins Lulu as senior vice president of global marketing and fulfillment. Earlier in his Red Hat career, Chen directed the Linux software services provider’s efforts in China.
Young, former chairman and CEO at Red Hat, said Chen will be responsible for Lulu’s international operations and expansion strategies.
"Michael’s expertise across these areas will help to enhance Lulu’s unique customer experience and to accelerate the success of our authors and content creators worldwide," said Young, who is Lulu’s chairman and chief executive officer. "We are excited to have such a talented and experienced Internet marketing executive join our ambitious team."
Chen has extensive connections in North Carolina, including an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Masters in network engineering from N.C. State.
Lulu provides self-publishing services for authors, musicians and entertainers.
