The high-tech $1.5 billion is adding a new client of sorts where fresh food and knowledge are being offered simultaneously.
A farmers market opens on the campus today, offering locally produced fruits and vegetables along with a series of weekly seminars about health, according to the Salisbury Post.
The Research Campus is the brainchild of Dole Food owner and natural foods advocate David Murdock.
The farmers market is open on Thursdays through the fall. The outreach and seminar program from the N.C. Cooperative Extension is supported by N.C. State University and N.C. A&T State University/ Both have a presence at the campus.
