Cisco exec could be Obama’s pick for CTO

, who has been chief technology officer at Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) for the past 13 months, is emerging as one of the finalists to be the nation’s first CTO.

President-elect Barrack Obama has said he would create a CTO post.

Various media reports have Warrior among the finalists. Before joining Cisco, she worked at Motorola for 23 years.

Asked by BusinessWeek if she would be the nation’s CTO, Warrior replied by e-mail: "Smart networking technologies and IT play a critical role in transforming government, energy, education and healthcare.”
