Victoria Haynes, chief executive officer at , is the “Businessperson of the Year” for 2008 as selected by the Triangle Business Journal.
"We’re delighted with our 2008 pick because this award reflects the leadership prowess of a woman who managed to grow a business by 16 percent during a tough economic environment," said Charlene Grunwaldt, the paper’s publisher, in a statement.
RTI is celebrating its 50th year as a research and development institution. A nonpropfiit, RTI generated $710 million in revenue this year, which was a record for the firm, according to the Journal. RTI also added 200 jobs this year.
