Chris Viehbacher, who recently left GlaxoSmithKline, is joining the board of directors at the

Viehbacher led North American operations for GSK (NYSE: GSK) but resigned in September after being passed over for the chief executive officer’s position.

In December, he will become CEO at Sanofi-Aventis.

"I am grateful that Mr. Viehbacher has agreed to share his time and expertise with BWF," said fund President John Burris. "The experience and knowledge that he brings to the table will help further BWF’s mission."

Viehbacher has been very involved in philanthropic activities in the Triangle area.
