, a provider of talent management solutions, is acquiring VTN Technologies, a provider of software-based training.

VTN is based in Edmonton, Canada.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

VTN’s best-known product is called “Ole,” which operates over the Web and has more than 400,000 customers. DirecTV is among its clients.

SilkRoad plans to incorporate the product into its “Life Suite” and call it “GreenLight.”

“During these challenging times, companies have to accomplish more with less,” said SilkRoad Chief Executive Officer Andrew Filipowski. “The Life Suite from SilkRoad greatly contributes to cutting millions in costs, while helping [human resources] departments maintain a positive culture and enable employees to perform at the peak of their capabilities. Adding the VTN Olé Learning Environment to the SilkRoad Life Suite adds another critical component to the tools HR departments need to get the most out of their enterprises’ human resources.”

SilkRoad closed on $54 million in equity financing in May.

VTN will continue to operate in Edmonton, and its senior management team will join SilkRoad, the companies said in a statement.
