will take out a $100 million loan through BB&T to pay for the construction of a new plant at the Global TransPark in Kinston.

The funds will be used to build an aerospace manufacturing facility for Spirit AeroSystems. The firm agreed earlier this year to expand to Kinston and create 1,000 jobs.

GoldenLEAF agreed to pay for the facility as part of a state-backed incentive package to land the plant.

The News & Observer in Raleigh reported that the economic development group, which oversees North Carolina’s proceeds from a nationwide settlement with tobacco companies, plans to repay the loan in a year.
