is teaming up with Neuland Laboratories to form a joint venture in India.
The contract research organization, which is based in Durham, and Neuland, a manufacturer of pharmaceutical ingredients, plan to help drug companies bring new drugs to market. The new organization will be based in Hyderabad, India.
Financial terms of the joint venture were not disclosed.
"This joint venture further allows Cato to expand its international presence and better serve our sponsors," said Allen Cato, Cato’s chief executive officer.
"The addition of India into Cato Research’s international network increases our ability to conduct multinational clinical trials and provide a wide range of CRO services in the international arena."
Neuland, which is based in Hyderabad, has operations in the U.S. and Japan and has customers in more than 80 countries.
