Inlet Technologies is rolling out a new technology that it says will help video providers automate processing and encoding.

The product, called Armada, is being demonstrated this week at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in Las Vegas.

Inlet is targeting Armada for use in video-on-demand, video download and repurposing of content for packaging in additional formats.

“A growing number of content creators, programmers and distributors are struggling to find ways to monetize and distribute digital media – not only faster but more profitably,” said Colin Dixon, a senior consultant with The Diffusion Group, in a statement provided by Inlet. “Inlet’s Armada solution uniquely addresses these challenges by applying advanced automation technologies to digital media management. In fact, Armada represents the first time I’ve seen the entire digital media workflow process handled in this fashion.”

Inlet has focused on providing video compression technologies to broadcasting, production and online customers.

Capitol Broadcasting is an investor in Inlet.
