Philip Cooley, assistant director of bioinformatics at RTI International, has been named a fellow at the global research and development firm.
Cooley has worked at RTI since 1969. He has developed computer models that are used in studies for environmental health and disease transmission. Most recently, Cooley has been involved in research efforts to combat a potential pandemic.
A holder of a master’s degree in operations from UNC-Chapel Hill, Cooley is a reviewer for Science magazine and The Journal of the American Medical Association.
RTI established its fellows program in 2001 to provide selected staff members with additional research and policy analysis opportunities.
