Linux software developer Red Hat is expanding its presence in China with two new facilities, ZNet Asia reported Monday.

Red Hat, which is based in Raleigh, N.C., recently opened a testing and certificiation facility in Beijing as well as a research and development center.

The company also reached out to the open source development community in China by certifying 30 independent software vendors.

The testing center will be used to test and certify enterprise solutions developed for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss middleware solutions. Red Hat owns JBoss.

The research and development center is the fifth opened by Red Hat around the world.
