Micorsoft has picked RTP-based ChannelProvider, a provider of e-commerce solutions and services, to participate in its “Startup Accelerator Program.”
As part of the program, ChannelAdvisor will receive access to Microsoft personnel and programs as well as guidance and support from the Microsoft Emerging Business Team.
Hundreds of companies are considered each year for the program.
"ChannelAdvisor is thrilled to be selected for the Microsoft Startup Accelerator Program," said Scot Wingo, founder and chief executive officer of ChannelAdvisor. "Building our software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform on the Microsoft solution set has been a big part of our ability to innovate rapidly while handling the $2 billion in annual e-commerce channel sales scale that flows through our software today."
ChannelAdvisor set records for the amount of business conducted using its software during the 2007 holiday chopping season.
"ChannelAdvisor Complete provides a valuable solution," said Beti Cung, portfolio manager of the Emerging Business Team, referring to ChannelAdvisor’s solution. "Microsoft is pleased to be working with ChannelAdvisor to offer retailers an online multi- channel strategy across e-commerce marketplaces, comparison shopping engines and search engines."
Microsoft picks companies for the program based on innovation, marketability, growth potential, funding, platform decision and strategic importance to Microsoft.
