DURHAM – Motricity, a provider of mobile content technology and services, is partnering with Mobifusion Partners to offer a condensed version of Encyclopaedia Britannica.
Britannica Concise 2008 was developed by Mobifusion, which is based in Fremont, Calif. The offering includes the ability to research history, sports, art and other topics via mobile devices.
“With our mobile version of Britannica Concise 2008, Motricity is able to deliver an endless library of mobile content so reference enthusiasts everywhere can access the information while on-the-go,” said Chris McKenney, chief content officer at Mobifusion. “The demand for mobile content is ever-increasing and by bringing Britannica’s best-selling titles to the mobile phone we’re able to offer an innovative content structure packed with daily features, including famous quotes, biographies and more.”
Motricity will offer the content through various mobile content Web sites such as Palmgear, Pocketgear and Smartphones.
Last fall, Motricity and Mobifusion teamed up to offer World Almanac information.
