Cree, a manufacturer of light emitting diodes and other semiconductor products, is added two executives to its management team.
Soo Ghee Lee, a veteran of the optoelectronics industry in Asia, is Cree’s new vice president and general manager for Asia-Pacific. Lee most recently worked as vice president and general manager for solid-state illumination at Avago Technologies.
Cree (Nasdaq: Cree) is making a major effort to expand its sales and production capabilities in the Asian market with an emphasis on LEDs.
In the U.S., meanwhile, Wayne Nesbit joins Cree as vice president for worldwide manufacturing. His most recent position was senior vice president for operations at Mindspeed Technologies. Earlier in his career he worked for 17 years at Motorola.
Nesbit will be based in Durham.
