First Mile Communications, which is building a high-speed wireless broadband network in the Atlanta area, has signed on to use Internet Protocol network routing services from Internap.
Financial details were not disclosed.
First Mile offers the wireless service as an alternative to fiber or other landline connectivity. The company said it planned to work with Internap as it expands into other markets. The current First Mile network links 15 commercial office buildings with service offerings from 3 megabits to 200 megabits per second.
“By teaming with Internap, we are able to not only offer higher levels of service, but also expand our wireless connectivity options for our enterprise customers,” said R. Stanley Allen, president of First Mile.
