American Broadband Communications, which acquires local phone companies operating in rural areas, has secured a $200 million credit facility.
The Charlotte-based company worked with Ares Capital out of New York to line up the financing.
American Broadband operates 11 local phone companies from Georgia to Pennsylvania and Colorado, according to the company’s Web site. The firm focuses on acquisitions of companies that have fewer than 5,000 lines in service.
