Several interactive games companies from around the Triangle are putting on a “Video Game Technology Showcase & Career Fair” on Saturday.

The event not only will highlight games and technology being developed in the area but also help exhibiting companies who are looking to fill open jobs.

Some 30 video game developers in the area employ about 1,000 people. Two hundred of those have been added in the past year, according to Wake County Department of Economic Development.

About 100 jobs are available at firms that will be participating at Saturday’s event.

The Career Fair begins at 10 a.m. at One Eleven Place.

Participating companies include Destineer Studios, Electronic Arts, Emergent Game Technologies, Funcom, Icarus Studio, Red Storm Entertainment, Themis Group and Vicious Cycle. Also participating are Wake Tech Community College, School of Communication Art @ Digital Circus and the Carolina Games Summit.

The event is free.
