Dell is expanding its move into services, buying privately held Everdream Corp., a software-as-a-service firm that has an office in Charlotte.
Everdream, which is based in California, offers remote service management solutions.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Dell, which operates its largest manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, recently acquired SilverBack Technologies, another IT services provider.
The two deals position Dell to offer remote management of servers, storage, printers, desktops and laptops on a global basis.
“The planned Everdream acquisition is a significant step in Dell’s next-generation service offerings and provides Dell an expanded presence in the rapidly growing SaaS-enabled managed services market,” said Steve Schuckenbrock, a Dell senior vice president, in a statement. “Everdream has an extremely talented team that has developed industry-leading technology enabling customers and partners to easily and affordably manage PCs from anywhere in the world.”
