RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Derek Farwagi, a veteran of international business projects, has joined RTI International as its vice president of business development for the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
The Gulf Council includes the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.
Farwagi’s task is to increase RTI’s presence across the region. RTI has an office in the UAE and is involved in several Arabian Gulf area projects.
A graduate of the United Kingdom Chartered Institute of Marketing, Farwagi joined RTI from the General Holding Corporation for the UAE. It is one of the UAE’s largest government-owned conglomerates with business in manufacturing and consumer goods.
