Losses increased for PokerTek (Nasdaq: )) in the third quarter even as revenue jumped substantially.
The developer of automated poker tables and related software said third quarter revenue increased to $1.1 million from $200,000 in the same quarter of 2006. However, losses increased to $4.1 million, or 37 cents a share, from $2.3 million or 24 cents per share in 2006.
PokerTek, which recently replaced its chief executive officer and chief financial officer, cited increased marketing costs as well as legal costs for the steeper loss.
