Scott DiValerio, a former executive at Microsoft, is the new president of the Americas Group at PC manufacturer Lenovo.

DiValerio replaces Rory Read, who remains senior vice president for Lenovo’s operations. He was named interim head of the Americas group in January.

At Microsoft, DiValerio was vice president for original equipment manufacturing. He also has worked at the Walt Disney Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He reports directly to Lenovo Chief Executive Officer William Amelio.

DiValerio joins Lenovo as the company rolls out marketing and sales efforts targeting the U.S. and other markets. He will join Lenovo on Dec. 3.
