AAIPharma, a contract research organization for life science firms, is expanding its operations with a new office in South Africa.

The operation in Johannesburg will open with 10 people.

“The addition of South Africa provides AAIPharma and our customers with access to a unique mix of patient populations” said Ludo Reynders, chief executive officer at AAIPharma.

“The value of the high-quality clinical trial data produced in South Africa is widely recognized. Whilst the presence of groups such as treatment-naïve patients enables rapid and quality recruitment to ensure that we can meet the needs of our pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers, both locally and internationally.”

AAIPharma hired a CRO team that was already in place in South Africa. The operation will focus on Phase II through Phase IV clinical trials.
