Chapel Hill Company Wraps Up SAS Project with $1B Drug Firm

ThotWave Technologies, a five-year-old information technologies consulting firm, recently wrapped up a three-year project with drug development firm Covance.

Covance, a company with $1.2 billion a year in revenues, hired ThotWave to upgrade its SAS software infrastructure.

ThotWave designed and implemented a SAS 9 architecture for Covance.

“While this was not the single largest contract for ThotWave, it was a significant project with strategic value for us,” a company spokesperson said.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

“We are extremely pleased with the Covance project and its launch,” said ThotWave President Greg Nelson. “Covance is sure to benefit not only from the updated technology platform, but also the abilities to address operational challenges, provide improved interfaces for stakeholders across the clinical trial value chain and provide a platform for innovation for years to come.”
