SpinVox,a developer of technology for voice-to-screen messaging, has hired Jim Kirkland as director for corporate development, mergers and acquisitions.

“SpinVox is at a critical moment in our growth as a global corporation,” said Christina Domecq, co-founder and chief executive officer of SpinVox. “Jim’s depth of experience in creating relationships spans the carrier, content and technology space. To date, we’ve only scratched the surface of the potential for applications of voice-to-screen services – he will provide new depth as we expand into new arenas.”

Kirkland is a former executive with Covad Communications and Clearwire Technologies. He also was a partner in a large communications law practice.

SpinVox is already working with Cincinnati Bell and has announced deals with Alltel and other firms to offer its “Voice-to-Screen” voice to text managed services.
