Solarity, a developer of solar cells based on nanotechnology, has secured $5 million in Series A funding.

Private Equity Wire reported the funding, citing a regulatory filing.

Solarity is a spinout from Georgia Tech led by Ajeet Rohatgi. He is a professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Tech. He also is the founding director of the University Center of Excellence for Photovoltaic Research and Education at Georgia Tech.

The funding was led by New Enterprise Associates.
