Lynn Hayden, chairman of semiconductor firm ViASIC, is also taking on the chief executive officer’s role at the firm.
Max Lloyd, the former CEO of the company, will remain on its board. He stepped aside from the CEO job in order to pursue personal interests, a spokesperson for the company said.
ViASIC provides electronic design automation solutions for use in semiconductors.
Hayden took over as chairman in January of 2006. He has been a board member since 2003.Before coming to ViASIC, Hayden was CEO of Coiltronics for 20 years. He founded the firm in 1977.
ViASIC works with semiconductor firms to reduce design costs and development time.
The company was launched in 1999. ASIC stands for application-specific integrated circuits.
