James Ritchie, Jr., a Republican representative in the South Carolina state Senate, will discuss plans for a state-wide wireless fidelity (WiFi) network at a luncheon on Sept. 13 in Greenville.

The event is being put on by the Greenville Spartanburg Anderson Technology Council.

Ritchie is a major proponent of the WiFi project as well as venture funding efforts and a statewide laptop program for students.
