Emergent Game Technologies, which has a major development office in Chapel Hill, N.C., is opening a regional office in Poland.
Emergent announced the move at last week’s game developers conference in Leipzig, Germany. The company already has a working relationship with several companies in the region.
The move is the second by a Triangle-connected game company into Poland in recent days. Epic Games, which is based in the Triangle, earlier this month bought People Can Fly, a game development firm based in Poland.
Emergent also named Dave Solomon, a game industry veteran, to lead its developer relations for Eastern Europe. He worked most recently for CineGroupe Interactive, an animation firm, as vice president of sales and marketing.
“Emergent’s new Poland office will provide on-the-ground service to Eastern Europe and facilitate a collaborative environment with existing and new customers to advance new tool sets and technologies that will dramatically enhance worldwide game development, said Geoffrey Selzer, chief executive officer at Emergent.
