Michael Troullis can remove “acting” from his title as chief financial officer at global contract research organization Quintiles Transnational.

Troullis was formally promoted to the position on Wednesday. He had been acting CFO since last year. John Ratliff, Troullis’ predecessor as CFO, was named chief operating officer.

An executive with Quintiles since 1992, he joined the company as director of finance for Europe. Troullis earned an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Exeter in England.
