Jerry Elliott, a former chief executive officer at Global Signal, has been added to the board of directors at telecom gear maker Tekelec.
Elliott increases the board size to eight.
Tekelec (Nasdaq: TKLC) last week announced a consolidation of its two business units into one and a $50 million stock buyback plan as part of an effort to combat lagging sales.
Elliott is also a board member at SunCom Wireless and Idearc. Global Signal rented tower space to wireless carriers. He also has been an accountant at Arthur Andersen and a partner in a law firm.
