GigaBeam, an emerging provider of high-speed wireless bandwidth services, has signed on what it calls “a major university” as a client.

The name of the school was not disclosed.

GigaBeam, which recently relocated its headquarters to Durham from Virginia, offers line-of-site delivery of broadband in what it calls “wireless fiber optics,” or WiFiber. According to GigaBeam, it can deliver data at speeds and capacity similar to traditional fiber optics.
