DataPath, a provider of satellite and wireless communications systems, has won a $16.7 million contract for a military network.

The Communications-Electronics Command picked DataPath to build a “joint incident site communications capability” for the U.S. Army National Guard.

DataPath will work with Applied Global Technologies in creating the network. The purpose of the network is to provide command and control capabilities at a man-made or natural disaster within hours anywhere in the United States.

The network will include DataPath satellite communications. The system is designed to be transportable by military aircraft. It will include 32 systems produced by DataPath.
