Jim Goodnight, co-founder and chief executive officer of SAS, is the "Citizen of the World" as picked by the International Affairs Council.
The International Affairs Council is an independent, non-partisan organization focused on world affairs and what it calls "citizen-to-citizen diplomacy." It also promotes North Carolina as an international center of education, culture and business.
Goodnight will receive the award on Oct. 25 at a dinner at North Ridge Country Club. The group is recognizing Goognight for his efforts as a global thought leader and involvement in several international organizations such as the World Economic Forum.
The forum has named a top citizen annually since 1995.
