Telecommunications gear provider Tekelec landed deals with two major network providers on Thursday.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam, the largest telecommunications company in India, signed on for additional network signaling gear from Tekelec. BSNL has more than 40 million wireline and 30 million wireless customers. The company has used Tekelec gear since 2005.

Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC) described the purchase of its Eagle 5 Integrated Signaling System solution as one of the firm’s largest to date. The Eagle 5 solution is designed to help telecommunication firms deliver next-generation services such as integrated video and data services.

Also on Thursday, Tekelec announced a deal with another T-Mobile subsidiary, T-Mobile Netherlands, to upgrade that company’s wireless network. T-Mobile Germany signed a deal with Tekelec earlier this year.

Both T-Mobile firms are using Tekelec’s Internet Protocol-based Sigtran system that uses Tekelec’s Eagle 5 integrated signaling system.

"Tekelec won the contract as a result of its ability to address our core requirements efficiently and cost-effectively," said Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, technical director of T-Mobile. "We have selected Tekelec because of its workmanship and successful earlier implementation of this technology with other mobile operators in the Netherlands and abroad."
Financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
