“My Local TV,” a service developed by News Over Wireless, is now accessible by AT&T wireless users.
On Wednesday, News Over Wireless announced its availability over the Nextel network. Nextel is now part of Sprint.
News Over Wireless is a business unit of Capitol Broadcasting’s New Media division.
My Local TV, which is a subscription-based service providing local TV news through affiliates across the United States, is now available to the nation’s three largest wireless providers: AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.
Programming includes news, weather, traffic, sports and breaking news updates.
“We are thrilled to provide the leading-edge technology found in My Local TV to AT&T customers,” said Sam Matheny, general manager of News Over Wireless. “Our solution places reliable, relevant content in the hands of mobile customers across the nation.”
My Local TV is an application that users download. TV affiliates design their own mobile offerings.
The News Over Wireless Web site offers a list of devices that can access the network.
For AT&T users, the service is $3.99 per month.
