The Triangle is a repeat selection to Fast Company’s “Fast 30” city list, only this time in a specific category.
Raleigh-Durham – as named by the magazine, not the Triangle – was cited as one of three “R&D” clusters on the list. Also picked were Fort Collins, Colo., and Seoul, South Korea.
In 2005, the magazine cited the Triangle on a list that didn’t break metro areas down by category.
For the 2007 list, Fast Company paid the region high praise”
“This region wrote the original recipe for high-tech clusters: Start with careful planning, add a warm business climate, and top with a high quality of life. But don’t forget the brains. Three big universities fuel innovation in biotech, pharma, and computer science.”
Atlanta, meanwhile was cited as being “on the verge” of making the top 30 list as a “creative class mecca.”
