SunCom Wireless is upgrading the communications capabilities for the North Carolina Technology Association, providing staff members with BlackBerry pearl handsets plus voice and data services.

Staffers also will receive training.

“Technology is a huge driver in strengthening and sustaining North Carolina’s competitive positioning and this upgrade will help NCTA serve our members faster and more efficiently,” said Joan Myers, NCTA’s chief executive officer.

The Pearl model BlackBerries include new features such as a digital camera and MP3 player as well as standard features such as e-mail, text messaging, Web browsing and personal organizer.

“Whether the NCTA team wants to stay connected to business decision makers and government officials, take photos, watch video or manage their kids’ soccer schedules, this outstanding smartphone does it all,” said Ty West, executive director of regional sales and development at SunCom Wireless. “It bridges the gap between professional and personal life and appeals to customers looking for a mobile solution for their workday and beyond.”
